We want to meet our friends from Rainbow Catholics Europe – but they close their meeting at five. So quickly to the hotel, where Christian Weisner is already waiting for us. Thank goodness the LGBTQ+ people gather very close to the hotel, so we can find them right away. Nice to see many old acquaintances and to discover some new faces! Miroslav Matavkà, who had made a very clear statement in our press conference before the meeting, chaired this meeting together with the queer theologian Susanne Birke from Switzerland (she works for the diocese of Basel). "We want acceptance. Open arms. God created us the way we are. We also don't want to be tolerated – we are a gift to the Church, with all our charisms and talents," says Chris from Malta.
After a final devotional, there is a small tour through the "Lesser Town" of Prague and a good dinner in the restaurant "St. Martin", which was recommended by one of the Rainbow Catholics. The best duck of my life!!

In Linz treffe ich Marlies Prinz. Ich freue mich sehr, dass sie mit mir zur Kontinentalversammlung fährt. Sie ist vor kurzem in unser Leitungsteam kooptiert worden und wir haben Zeit, uns ein bisschen voneinander zu erzählen.
Wir kommen um dreiviertel vier an und haben es eilig. Hier treffen wir auf Martin Schockenhoff von WsK-Deutschland, der aus Stuttgart angereist ist. Prag empfängt uns strahlend, die Stadt wird ihrem Ruf als „Goldenes Prag“ durchaus gerecht. Allerdings ist es ziemlich kalt. Diese Kälte wird uns die ganze Woche begleiten…
Wir wollen unsere Freund*innen von den Rainbow Catholics Europe treffen – aber sie schließen ihre Versammlung um fünf. Also schnell ins Hotel, wo Christian Weisner schon auf uns wartet. Gott sei Dank versammeln sich die LGBTQ+ Leute ganz in der Nähe des Hotels, sodass wir sie auch gleich finden. Schön, viele alte Bekannte zu sehen und einige neue Gesichter zu entdecken! Miroslav Matavkà, der in unserer Pressekonferenz im Vorfeld der Versammlung ein sehr klares Statement abgegeben hatte, leitete zusammen mit der queeren Theologin Susanne Birke aus der Schweiz (sie arbeitet für das Bistum Basel) dieses Treffen. «Wir wünschen uns Akzeptanz. Offene Arme. Gott hat uns so geschaffen, wie wir sind. Wir möchten auch nicht einfach geduldet sein – wir sind Geschenk für die Kirche, mit all unseren Charismen und Talenten“, sagt Chris aus Malta.
Nach einer abschließenden Andacht ist noch ein kleiner Rundgang durch die „Kleinseite“ Prags drin und ein gutes Abendessen im Restaurant „St. Martin“, das uns einer der Rainbow Catholics empfohlen hat. Die beste Ente meines Lebens!!
